Some BBC poster has pointed out that Pardew had an EIGHT YEAR contract at Newcastle. 8!. Barcodes may well have settled, but in essence, they are still paying him now!

Pardew is not being paid by Newcastle that ceased when he left, receiving a small compensatory package.
Pardew, when offered the manager’s job at Newcastle, gave it to he LMA to peruse and they told him not to touch the job with a barge pole unless certain terms were changed. Nonetheless Pardew accepted the Ashley contract and took the job. It was an annual rolling contract for review after eight years fwiw. Benitez has been employed under the standard contract the LMA advise members to accept as minimum terms.
